About These Chicken Wraps

This Chicken wrap recipe is one of my favorites for lunch. I like to make this recipe using my EASY 5 INGREDIENT SOURDOUGH DISCARD TORTILLAS. it makes it a little more work to make this recipe but I like to prep the dough to keep in the fridge! for me it is worth the extra work to avoid the unhealthy ingredients found in store bought tortillas. Ingredients:

This recipe makes 4 wraps

For the Hot Honey Sauce you’ll need:

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 Tbsp honey
  • 2 Tbsp siracha

For the rest of the toppings:

  • 1/2 cup Shredded Chedder Cheese, my favourite is Balderson aged white chedder, it goes really well in this wrap!
  • 2 cups thinly chopped or shredded lettuce
  • Sliced red onion

How to make these chicken wraps:

After that cut your chicken breast into small strips and add it to a bowl alongside an egg that’s been whisked up, stir your chicken into the egg to coat all the chicken pieces

In a separate bowl whisk together your flour and salt, I like to use a shallow bowl.

Heat up a cast iron pan over medium high heat with a generous amount of avocado oil, it should have a good coating along the bottom of the pan

When the pan is hot take the chicken one piece at a time out of the egg mixture, and dredge it through the flour and add it to the hot pan. Cook on this side for a few minutes until crispy and then flip the strips and cook on the other side until the chicken is cooked through.

Once the chicken strips are done remove them from the plan and place them on a plate and set aside.

Next prepare the rest of your ingredients, cut up the lettuce and onion, and shred the cheese. After that you need to prepare the hot honey sauce which is really simple.

To prepare the hot honey sauce simply whisk together the mayonnaise, honey and siracha

Once that is complete you just need to assemble the wraps, start by spooning about a tablespoon of sauce on the tortilla, next add the chicken, for me I did 3 strips per wrap. Add the cheese, onion and lettuce and drizzle with a but more sauce and roll them up!

This is one of my new favourite things to make for lunch, it’s easy, high in protein and delicious! I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!

Healthy Hot Honey Chicken Wraps

Crispy Chicken and a delicious hot honey sauce wrapped up in a homemade tortilla, these Chicken wraps are a must try!

Equipment

  • Cast iron pan

Ingredients
  

  • 2 Chicken Breasts
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Cup Flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 4 Tortillas
  • Avocado oil

Hot Honey Sauce

  • 1/4 Cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 Tbsp Honey
  • 2 Tbsp Siracha

Other Toppings

  • 2 Cups Shredded or finely chopped lettuce
  • Sliced red onion
  • 1 Cup Shredded Cheese I used aged white chedder

Instructions
 

  • Start off by cutting your chicken breast into small strips
    Whisk your egg in a medium sized bowl, and add the strips of chicken, stir it to make sure the chicken is evenly coated in the egg
  • In a separate bowl whisk together your flour and salt
  • Heat a large cast iron over medium heat with a generous coating of avocado oil in it, once hot one at a time dredge the chicken through the flour mixture and place them in the hot pan
  • Cook for a few minutes, once crispy on the bottom side, flip and cook until cooked through, transfer to a plate and set aside

  • Next whisk together the mayonnaise, honey and siracha to make the hot honey sauce
  • Shred the chedder cheese, lettuce and slice some red onion
  • Assemble the wraps by adding about a tablespoon of the hot honey sauce to the tortilla, next add the chicken, cheese, onion and lettuce. Finish it off by drizzling a bit more of the hot honey sauce on top
  • Roll up the tortillas, and enjoy these delicious Hot Honey Crispy Chicken Wraps!
